Nick Cave - Forever my #1.
I remember, I found Nick Cave at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2003. It was a film about a wanderer going to a stranger's apartment to seek refuge everyday after he found her key was hidden under the door mat. As the days go by, he started leavin post stick notes in her books he read. There was a melancholy romantism to the film. At the Q&A, I found out that the director is a student of Wim Wenders, and that's why the entire soundtrack was songs by Nick Cave.
Then in 2004, I started working in Ascot at HOK. Tim lent me Abattoir Blues/ The Lyre of Orpheus. That summer, it was all I listened to.
